Welcome to our 99-03 Saab 93 9.3 9-3 Radio Removal and Reinstallation Instruction Page! For SID Removal click here For ACC Removal click here Step 1: Insert the radio removal tool (which can be purchased with SaabPod service from the pull down menu here) into the left and right side removal holes and begin working the radio out of it’s harness. You can also use two coat hangers with the ends bent straight to resemble the removal tool. The socket may be tight around the radio so once it starts coming out you may have to jiggle it a little to get it out.
Step 2: Once you have the back of the radio clear of the dash, unplug the three rectangular plugs by pressing the catch on the right hand side and rocking the plug up and out of the socket as pictured. Pull out the two round plugs.
Step 4: Mail your radio to us for iPod integration! Pack it carefully in bubble wrap in a box. Packing peanuts allow the radio to work its way to the top of bottom of the box and be unprotected, whereas bubble wrap that is taped around the unit allows constant protection. Reinstallation is the simple reversal of the removal process. Plug the color coded plugs back into the radio, plug the two round plugs back into the radio, and push the radio back into the dash. It will "clunk" into place. You'll have to move the windshield wiper stalk all the way up to make way for the radio. Plug one end of the included 3.5mm stereo cord into the front of your radio, and the other end into your phone or other media device, turn the car on and the radio on, and you're all set! Thank you for choosing SaabPod. This modification will disable any CD changer or phone integration that you may have and is not available for radios with cassette players! |
